Yesterday we discovered Le Petit Dep just off the Rue du Petit Champlain and I am in LOVE.
In fact I am in love with the whole little area we are staying in. All the shops, the hotels, the restaurants, are all decked out for Christmas and it looks like something out of a dream.
I told the HH I could stay here for an entire month and never get bored!
Just look at the window box!!! Practically every shop here has one and they are all so festive. I have to remember to take pictures of as many of them as I can.
And the inside of Le Petit Dep, the small cafe we found yesterday, is just as charming and cozy as well. Gaaa. Why didn’t we come here sooner?
London fogs are even on the menu here! Can you believe it? My all time favorite tea of all time.
So of course I had to order one. The Le Petit Dep version had honey and cardamom in it. And it was sooo good!
And they have cannelés here too. I always get one when I’m in Europe and they’re such a treat.
I told the HH I want to buy a mold and see if I could make them at home. Have you ever tried making them? I wonder how hard it would be. I’ve read that the best ones are made in copper molds… Anyone know for sure?
And a cromboloni. Have you ever had one of these before? OH MY GOODNESS!!! You need to try one of these pastries. According to the Google, a Cromboloni is a combination of croissants and bomboloni {which is an Italian donut}.
This one was filled with a delicious caramel sauce and it was pretty much the best pastry I’ve had in a looooong looooong time. I loved that. I love discovering new tasty treats.
I love it here in Québec City! I’m not sure what we’re going to do today, but we’re off to a good start!!! Anyone want to see the hotel where we’re staying? It’s pretty magical too.
Have a great day everyone, stay warm.
